An Aug. 23 article authored by Scott Smith for The Associated Press on the Revamp the Camp project was picked up media outlets throughout the country and included a glowing review of the Wedge cabin by San Francisco architect Steve Chaitow, a principal at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.
Chaitow said he appreciated how the Wedge is made of “simple materials yet contains features found in refined homes he has designed. The cabin satisfies a basic human need to feel safe with solid walls on two sides yet allows outside views on both ends.”
“If you’ve done well with your architecture, you’ve really connected with your place,” Chaitow said. “You’ve created a place that draws an emotional response with people.”
The Wedge prototype will be displayed at the L.A. County Fair through Sept. 28.
